Extraordinary PhD Award (2005) for the Thesis, then published as a monography: “Grupos de sociedades y protección de acreedores (una perspectiva societaria)”.
Her papers (several of them international) are very numerous and are mainly (though not only) focused on company law. She has participated as research fellow at some of the most prestigious foreign universities: Göttingen, Bonn, Harvard Law School, Florence and Oporto.
Since 2010, prof. Fuentes is the Spanish representative (together with Prof. Juan Sánchez-Calero) as “Company Law Expert” in the Working Group on European Model Company Act (“EMCA”).
Since 2014, prof. Fuentes is member of the Informal Company Law Expert Group (ICLEG), which assists the European Commission (DG Justice-Internal Markets) in the drafting and implementation of company law Directives.
During 2014 and 2015 prof. Fuentes participated (together with Prof. Gaudencio Esteban Velasco), as a member of the Spanish delegation, in the Company Law Expert Group -dependant from the European Commission and the Council- in relation to the drafting of the Proposal for a Directive on Societas Unius Personae (SUP).
Since June 2020, prof. Fuentes has been part, as a seconded member (“vocal adscrito”), of the Working Group within the General Codification Commission for the preparation of a proposal for the transposition of Directive (EU) 2019/2121 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 November 2019 amending Directive (EU) 2017/1132 as regards cross-border conversions, mergers and divisions.
